Where To Pick Buffalo Berries!
Are you ready for the September 12th Kids Kickoff? We are asking you bring a pint of Buffalo Berries as the as the price of admission! (Of course you can come if you don’t have them, any small contribution would be appreciated instead).
Ok. We imagine that you have two questions going through you head right now:
1. Where do I find Buffalo Berries?
2. What are you going to do with them?
Excellent questions!
1. We have provided a Google map below to show you a few choice spots to go pick those berries. We have even included a video at the bottom to show you that even a child can harvest these tasty treats!
2. The reason we need these relates to our next upcoming event during Folkfest! We are going to have a kiosk downtown and offer up some delicious Buffalo Berry crepes (is your mouth watering yet?) as a fundraiser to help raise awareness for pediatric cancers and support those families dealing with these diseases.
That fact that you are still reading shows that you care and we are truly grateful for that. We look forward to collecting your pint of Buffalo Berries on September 12th at Sertoma Shelter #7 at around 2pm. We have entertainment for the whole family!

Wow… Those berries look tasty. Wish I could pick some here in Texas! Please save some for my next visit!!!
We’re all ready for Saturday…..we picked buffalo berries on Sunday…..while boating on Lake Sakakawea we discovered a beach we’ve never been to. We hiked up the hill a little ways and there were tons of buffalo berry bushes growing right there in the sand, so we got to pick with the beautiful view of the Big Lake! This was my little ones’ 1st berry picking experience!
We wanted to share how this is a great life lesson for my kids, picking and talking about other kids that are sick and all they endure, and how doing the littlest thing like picking a berry can help them. It was very rewarding for all of us. It seems everyone has such busy schedules, and too often we don’t get involved. It’s so important to teach our children the importance of helping others every day, even the simplest gestures go a long way. I hope many many others will join in too. Becky
