Bravehearts for Kids, a not for profit charity supporting families fighting pediatric cancer, is hosting a Children’s Christmas sing-along at the Waterford in Bismarck for residents and kids on December 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM. The Waterford is located at 1000 West Century Avenue in Bismarck, ND.

The event will be celebrating the brave fight children with cancer are carrying on during this holiday season. BraveHearts for Kids 1st Christmas Ornament Fundraiser…

Christmas Ornament

Christmas Ornament

We’re collecting ideas for our first annual Christmas Ornament Fundraiser. We’re hoping to produce an annual christmas ornament ~ decorated by art produced from one of our pediatric cancer patients each year!

We’ll hopefully have this for sale by the Thanksgiving holiday.

Anybody out there with specific ideas on ornaments that can be easily produced with printed art on them? We’re looking for help. Post your thoughts here on this page, or e-mail us at: info@braveheartsforkids.org.

Memorial Honoring Children’s Battle With Cancer Marks The Kickoff For New Charity.

Bravehearts for Kids, a Bismarck charity supporting families fighting pediatric cancer, hosted a memorial service by the Missouri River over the Labor Day weekend. It was a solumn reminder of the many children and their families affected by the disease.

To begin their fundraising, Bravehearts for Kids will be hosting a Buffalo Berry Harvest party for kids on September 12, 2009 at Sertoma Park – Shelter #7, by Bismarck’s Dakota Zoo, at 2 PM. They are asking each participating child bring a pint of berries to enter the party, but berries will not be required to join the fun.

Bravehearts are asking families, churches, organizations, and individuals to collect Buffalo Berries to help fundraising efforts. The berries will be used to prepare Buffalo Berry Crepes at the Bismarck Folkfest, September 18th & 19th .

KittyKo, a popular local entertainer will perform between 2:00 and 3:00 PM and there will be Karaoke with prizes given to the best entertainment (voted on by the kids). There will also be prizes awarded for children’s games after the KittyKo concert. The Dakota Zoo will be giving $1 discounts to participants at the celebration. Grilled Bratwursts and hot dogs and chips will be available.

Collection Information:
Bravehearts representatives will be at Sertoma’s shelter #7 at 9:30 AM coordinating the collection effort and passing out information. Buffalo Berries are plentiful around the outskirts of Bismarck / Mandan and you can find a demonstration of how to collect them along with a map of berry locations at our website: www.Braveheartsforkids.org
